Darksiders Contest- Supernova by IsiacDaGraca Darksiders Contest- Supernova by IsiacDaGraca
I find the most beautiful 'end of the world' idea (and general fact) to be the super nova, an explosion so powerful it forms new matter in its wake. we all know one day our sun will fall into the same cycle, by then we'll probably have inhabited our entire galaxy...

mercury destroyed at the very instant, Venus about to be consumed, and earth losing its atmosphere and water from the intense heat...this image was to display the nova at the very, very beginning of the explosion, other wise this whole thing would just be white :)...

But could we escape, could we truly escape a force that happens in an instant and initially travels near the speed of light? how fast could we run? will our technology be able to help us escape in time? could our technology take us far enough?

will we have a place to go? A new home?

or will we rot in space...
-----------------------
i choose this idea over a possibly better idea since i felt the better idea was ab it out of my league considering the time...perhaps I'll do it on my on time later...
-----------------------

this is done in its natural colors, not modification, i found no color modification was best as i lost detail when i tried to find a better tone...

the total time to make this is probably 10 hours, and 3 hours of that is probably due to planing...

my pre-visualization was done in blender where i made a scaled solar system based on references found around the internet, so the planet sizes are pretty accurate, imagine a camera with an extreme zoom lens along Jupiter's or Saturn's orbit... you can see the VERY simple pre-viz at the link below...

[link]

the only planet not in the pre-vis is the tiny mars, i did a separate quick render to check the scale and just dropped it on the reference obit lines i traced from the pre-vis, so its pretty accurate as well...

I Love It! I would like for this to happen rather then like 2012 or even the sun burning out. :(
